iCare Dental Nurses offers an internationally recognised diploma for those who would like to develop a career in Dental Nursing.
Based in Manchester, the 12 – 14 month part-time course is designed around the Current National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Curriculum.
Students will learn their practical knowledge by working at a General Dental Practice and completing a record of experience online (eROE) provided by the NEBDN.
About The Dental Nurses Profession
The role of a dental nurse is important in a dental clinic. They are responsible in preparing & maintaining dental equipment and materials. They are also responsible for health & safety regulations as well as providing chair-side support to dentists, therapists & hygienists. They also can provide admin duties such as making appointments & dealing with paperwork.
- When you enrol on the course, you’re expected to maintain at least 80% attendance
- You’ll need to begin your placement within 3 months and are advised to also work on completing your RoE within a specific timeframe.
- Once you have successfully completed your RoE, which is online-based, you start to prepare for the written exam.
- Once you have successfully passed your written exam, you proceed to conduct the OSCE exam, which is normally 2-3 months after.
- After you have completed these, you will finally have the title of a Dental Nurse.
- You then apply to go on the GDC registration as a qualified nurse.
iCare Dental Nurses help you with the entire process.
Totally! When you enrol with us, you’ll be eligible to work inside any UK dental surgery as this is a requirement to obtaining your diploma.
While iCare Dental Nurse students are training, they’ll be working and getting paid as trainee Dental Nurses.
We are passionate about our students, and always root for success. Mock interviews and 1-2-1 sessions are available once you’re ready to apply for jobs. Vacancies tend to arise from partnering practices and clinics in Manchester and surrounding areas. We are always in the loop of available vacancies, so you’re in safe hands!
You will need to have completed a diploma course at a dental hospital to qualify as a dental therapist. The course is full time and spans a little more than 2 years. Minimum requirements for applicants to courses are a Dental Nursing certificate from a recognised institution or 2 A-levels.
Unfortunately, as a training provider, we can’t guarantee jobs or placements. However, and this is a BIG however, we do provide 100% support to build your CV and your profile to make sure it meets the Dental Nursing specs.
